As a result, SIB will now be involved in helping companies and governments (or their agencies) raise money by issuing and selling securities in the capital markets (both equity and debt). SIB will also offer strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, divestiture or other financial services for clients, such as the trading of derivatives, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodity, and equity securities.
Sponsoring Brokerage Services
Since the listing of Safaricom shares, the Nairobi Stock Exchange has been experiencing increased interest amongst investors as exemplified by the significant rise in the number of CDS accounts opened from 2003 hitherto. This has in turn created awareness among potential companies looking to raise capital in the stock market either through listing or through bonds. As a result, SIB has in place, a team with the expertise and experience to provide superior sponsoring investment banking and brokerage services.
